Just moments after blogging about Tokens, I find Hello which is for sharing digital pictures with your friends in real time. Basically instant messenger with pictures, and it’s free. Windows only tho….
Awright! Who peed on the crotch of my pants?!?!?
Creo has released a new program to let users send each other tokens instead of emailing large files. The token is really a kind of bookmark that let’s the receiver download that file without thinking about ftp. Creo is targetting the graphic arts world where 200MB files are the norm. The interesting thing about this idea is that it takes an existing old technology, ftp, and makes it just a little more usable. The negative is that the token creator is not free (although it’s only $49) so it’s hard to say whether it will be widely adopted. An open source version of this utility on the other hand…..
