One of the nicer Wordpress plugins I’ve installed lately is Audit Trail.
Audit Trail logs all the changes you make to your blog and lets you retrieve previous versions of posts. It also tracks who logged in and when.
Nice!

Scott-O-Rama

Filed Under Mac, Gay | 3 Comments

I think everyone has one blog that they read regularly just because it makes them smile and feel better about themselves.  For me that blog is Scott-O-Rama.
Nearly every day Scott’s blog is full of interesting stories from his life, witty observations, Mac lust  and just general happy-go-gayness.  Scott-O-Rama is my go-to-smile blog reading.

This is a review a very cool Internet marketing blog, NetBusinessBlog.
NetBusinessBlog writes about online business strategies and looks at what works (and what doesn’t) in the online money-making space. NBB is written by Matt Coddington.
Recommended.

Turns out the Feedburner chiclet that shows how many RSS subscribers you have is super easy to fake by putting someone else’s Feedburner code with your feed URL. See How I Got 283K RSS Subscribers.
Towards my own journey of 283K readers, why not Subscribe to my RSS Feed.

It just makes me smile, what can I say..,.

DoshDosh on the strategy of sponsoring a Wordpress theme to build linkbacks.

Daily Blog Tips has a new Blog Project encouraging bloggers to write about their past blogging mistake.  Daily Blog Tips is a great resource for any blogger and I’m sure every blogger has done some things that, in retrospect, weren’t such a great idea.
For me the worst mistake was to spend too much time looking […]

Mr. Gary Lee is offering a linkback in exchange for a review so here it is!
mrgarylee.com (clever domain name there since everyone’s own name is usally already taken he has added the Mr to the beginning - I like it!) is nicely written with lots of useful posts like this about importing your blogger blog […]

Illogical Operation:
Japan has a obsession with putting big red buttons everywhere. DO NOT PUSH THESE BUTTONS. These buttons will not help you. The only thing they do is make a really loud noise and get everyone with a ½ mile really angry at you. Emergency services are unlikely to arrive in time to save you […]

Now you can comment on this blog and get a full followed link to your site. If you have a blog consider going Do Follow too.
Some more bloggers who have removed the no-follow attribute from their commenters links:

Scoble
Chris Garrett
Andy Beard
Instigator Blog

Why are commenters web site URLs set to be no-follow links automatically by most blog software?
Well the idea is to reduce comment spam by eliminating the motivation for spamming in the first place - ie: the link juice. Nice, logical idea. The problem is, it doesn’t work.
As all bloggers know, you will […]

A very interesting marketing case study is Vancouver company Ginch Gonch. With the motto, “Live Like A Kid”, and their in-your-face sexy models, GG manages to come out swinging in the highly competetive fashion world.
Their site is awash with nearly-naked male underwear models and now they have signed former adult industry icon Benjamin Bradley […]

Yaro has an interesting series about How To Start an Ebook Business:
This is the model Daryl and Andrew used to generate over $250,000 in passive income during their first year in the ebook business.

One of the central ideas behind Dave Allen’s Getting Things Done (GTD) system is using Contexts. Contexts are simply places (physical or mental) where you are ready to do certain bits of work (like @Home or @Work or @Shopping).
The beauty of contexts is that you shouldn’t waste psychic energy thinking about laundry when you […]

Gather Success is a blog by 25 year-old internet marketer Alvin Phang.
His site details how he is building his online business and making money on the internet including an intriguing story, How To Get 3300 Visites on the 6th Day of Your Blog.

Edragonu on how to have a productive Sunday even if ever fibre of you is wired to just goof off:
You have inside of you all the memories of your Sundays: since you were a baby, since you were a child, since you were a teenager… Is all there, forming a heavy energy vortex that is […]

Ja Kel Daily Dot Com eventually wants to make money and is offering to link to your blog if you review his blog.

The Useless Stats Plugin is a nice addition to any Wordpress install. It generates stats on your posting frequency and habits that you can check from the admin page. A good way to see just how much (or little) you are actually posting.

Blog Rambler has a good post explaining how to setup your robots.txt file so that all the duplicate links that Wordpress generates (to your Archives, etc) don’t throw Google off the scent when it comes to indexing your site properly.
If you create a standard Wordpress site you will have same post display under the specific […]

There are so many ways to work your blog to try to make it better, more linked and more noticed but blogging is one of those activities that really benefits from consistency. So here is a Daily Discipline for pulling your blog up:

1. Write Simple, I know. But if you aren’t writing […]

No sooner had I finished filling out the application to have Text Link Ads ads on my site when I was instantly (and politely with nice fonts) rejected.

TLA has a slick site compared to many others and they promise to let me in once I’m one of the popular kids. Apply here

I just discovered Firebug via the Big Medium blog, and I have to say, Wow!
The abilty to click on any page element and see the CSS and tweak that CSS and see the page update in realtime is fabulous all by itself. But you can also measure web download speed (by element), monitor Ajax […]

In an idea completely and shamelessly stolen from Mark I am also offering to review anyone’s blog for free (a lot cheaper than a ReviewMe review!)
The catch is you have to write the review yourself and email it to me and provide a link back to the review from your site.
The rules are cribbed from […]

I like the idea of having a family Arrow of Time.  The trick is to pick a day when you can gather the whole family together for the yearly picture.

I’m a big fan of operating my computer via keyboard as much as possible. I have no idea if this is faster or more productive (probably not) but I am sure that it’s satisfying and makes me feel more powerful!
In an effort to achieve this state of God-like control I mostly use Spotlight to […]
